Beginner Friendly

A professional Game Master guides you from the very first moment. They set expectations, explain how dice and turns function, and provide straightforward character options or pre-made sheets. Rules are introduced as needed, with clear examples and quick reminders. Encounters develop gradually, starting with dialogue scenes, moving to safe practice rolls, and culminating in larger moments. The pace remains gentle, allowing for questions and brief recaps. You always understand your options and the significance of each roll.

Perfect for newcomers, casual players, families, and groups with varying experience levels. Ideal for birthdays and team events where not everyone has played before. It pairs well with rules-light adventures, session zeros, and one-shots that introduce the setting and teamwork. Unsure what to play? Frequently Asked Questions

How is Beginner Friendly different from crunchy or quick play?

It exchanges speed and strict rules mastery for clarity and consistent guidance. Your Game Master outlines options before rolls. They take a moment to check in, ensuring no one gets lost. You can request more focus on combat or roleplay, but the teaching pace remains steady.

Is this suitable for children or families with mixed ages?

Yes. Your Game Master uses straightforward choices, clear safety tools, and shorter scenes to accommodate attention spans. For younger children, 90 to 120 minutes is ideal. Parents can join in as well, and your Game Master ensures everyone stays engaged.

Will it be suitable for a company team event or a first-time one-shot?

It's ideal for groups where not everyone has experience. Your Game Master begins with a quick demo roll and a common goal. They rotate the spotlight so everyone has a chance to contribute. Rules are introduced only as necessary, which helps keep the session on schedule.

Which game systems are suitable for a Beginner Friendly session?

Approachable picks include D&D 5E with streamlined options. Fate Accelerated, Quest, Lasers & Feelings, and Kids on Brooms also work well. Your Game Master can run lighter versions of other systems by trimming options and using prebuilt characters. Browse examples on game systems to select something your group will enjoy.

  • First of all, I want to say that Sebastian was really great as a DM. For his first run as a booked DM, he did a really good job. The 3 stars refer to the following: 1. We were disappointed that the adventure was labelled a One Shot and yet wasn't a complete story. Discovering that there are two more parts wasn't very positive for us, as it meant there was no satisfying conclusion to the story. 2. As new players, it was difficult for us to understand the English character sheets in such a short time. In German, it would have been much easier. Even receiving the character sheets a few days in advance would have been helpful for preparation. 3. More guidance would be beneficial. Especially for beginners, a more linear one shot would have been preferable. We wasted a large portion of the adventure time doing unnecessary things because we didn't really know how the game worked. Overall, I think the StoryForgers concept is really good and I see a lot of potential in it, especially for introducing new players to D&D. I hope you don't take my feedback the wrong way but as honest criticism. Best regards, Mario

  • Bryan was exceptional. We had a group with varying levels of experience, and he managed to keep everyone engaged and involved. His positive attitude made the game enjoyable for all. I truly appreciated how he could clearly explain what was needed from our less experienced players while keeping our more seasoned players on their toes with his expertise in the game. Everyone in our party had a fantastic time thanks to Bryan.

    Jeremy

  • Dayron was fantastic. Well-prepared. Punctual. And had a wonderful sense of humour.
